The Robert Ferst Center for the Arts is Georgia Tech's premier theater and arts center and is adjacent to DramaTech, the student-run theater. It contains a 1,155 seat auditorium that features a proscenium stage, orchestra pit, and theatrical lighting and sound systems. The center opened in April 1992 with the name Georgia Tech Theatre for the Arts, but was renamed in honor of Robert H. Ferst, a Georgia Tech alumnus, following a $1 million donation by his widow, Jeanne Rolfe Ferst. The centerr is used for many internal and external campus events.

Robert H. Ferst

Robert Harold Ferst comes from a family of Georgia Tech alums and it can easily be said that Robert lived up to the family name. Robert was a 1938 Mechanical Engineering grad who went on to own Scripto Inc., one of the largest manufacturers of ballpoint pens.
