Harold E. Montag

Harold Edward Montag was born on September 8, 1897 and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1918 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His senior quote in the Blueprint was the following: "'Girls and Steam Engines will not mix.' Moral: Cut out Steam Engines." He was a member of the ANAK Society, the oldest secret honor society at Georgia Tech. Montag owned the Montag Brothers' Paper Company, formerly one of the largest paper manufacturing and stationary companies in the United States. He was a generous donor to the institute, and the building was named in honor of his generosity. Montag passed away on November 26, 1969 in Atlanta.
