Parker H. Petit

Mr. Petit was born on August 4, 1939 in Atlanta, GA. He went on to receive his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in engineering mechanics from Georgia Tech. In 1973, he received an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University. Mr. Petit founded Healthdyne, a healthcare company that manufactured high technology healthcare devices and provided healthcare services and disease management. After Healthdyne split into several companies, Mr. Petit oversaw them all as Chairman of the Board. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Research Alliance, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Health Museum. In 1995, he donated $5 million to the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences at Georgia Tech. He also helped fund the Science Center building at Georgia State University in 2004.
