Stirling Price Gilbert

1862 to 1951

Born in Stewart County Georgia, Stirling Price Gilbert earned a Bachelor of Science and Law from Vanderbilt University and Yale, respectively. Gilbert served as a judge of the Supreme Court of Georgia and did much to assist education in Georgia during his term on the Georgia Board of Regents.

  • Establishment of the Georgia State College for Women
  • Funding the design and construction of a new library to replace the Carnegie Building at Georgia Tech
