William Glenn is a native Georgian and was the first person to register at Georgia Tech. He was also a member of the school's second ever graduating class in 1891. During his life he worked at the Atlanta Consolidated Street Railway and later became a vice president and manager at the Georgia Railway and Electric Company.
William was one of the primary members responsible for starting the Georgia Tech Alumni Assoication and served as its first president in 1921. He is considered a trustee of Georgia Tech receiving a Georgia Tech Distingushed Service Award. The Glenn Residence Hall was named in his honor has well as the fellowship fund within the School of Mechanical Engineering.
